Good News, Bad News
Ok, we all know that times are tough - and they may be getting tougher - but this one should really be filed in the “You’ve Got To Be Kidding Me!” file…
In Mansfield, Ohio, a number of local do-gooders are on the move to replace a bunch of stuff that a sick teenager lost when burglars stole his stuff while he was attending a fundraiser - for himself!
16 year old Sam Mcready recently lost both of his kidneys to a rare autoimmune disease called Goodpasture syndrome. The high schooler has to travel 60 miles, three times a week, for dialysis treatments.
While the teen was attending the event in his honor, he received money to help pay for all of the repeated hospitalizations and chemotherapy treatments he has undergone in the hopes of eventually having a kidney transplant.
While these good Samaritans pitched in to help Sam’s wide-screen TV and Sony Playstation were stolen from his home.
This article doesn’t go into a lot of detail, but I’ve lived in small towns and it seems to me that the burglary was a little-to-conveniently timed to coincide with the time that the family was out of the house. Is there no honor among thieves?
