I’ve Been Clickjacked!
This sounds ominous. There’s a new security threat on the web. It’s called clickjacking and experts say it poses a serious threat to anyone’s access to the Internet.
It works like this.
Invisible malicious buttons are created to hover over normal buttons on a web page. Once the buttons are clicked, hidden instructions are run that can significantly damage browser programs. Supposedly the hackers who craft this nonsense can do all sort of nasty things, like pilfer bank accounts or install malicious content onto a computer.
Apparently this has been an ongoing problem for years, yet hardly anyone has discussed it. Until now.
So what can you do? Well, the experts say your best line of defense is to use the Internet web browser, Mozilla Firefox, with the “Noscript” add on. They say you should also change the preferences in your email program to “text only” view.
This is all useful information indeed. But I’m wondering why this problem has been kept under wraps? I’ve certainly never heard about it and, by the sound of it, browser hacks are nothing to fool with.
