If you asked my friends about me, they would likely tell you a handful of things right off the bat. They would say that I love joking and laughing, that I read a lot, that I’m a good cook and that I LOVE to text message!

I have always been a talker and a writer. I love communicating with my friends and family - and of course with you, my faithful readers. When text messaging became possible on cellular phones, it was like a revelation. Now I could combine staying in touch with my friends day-to-day with writing! The best of all possible worlds!

Of course, like most folks who enjoy text messaging, I like the other advantages as well. The best thing about texting is that it offers instant, specific communication, without really creating any interruption on either end. I don’t have to wait for a pal to check his email before receiving a response, and he doesn’t have to drop everything he’s doing to let me know what’s going on.

Me: Wt doing?

Pal: @ park

So fast, easy, simple and sublime. I even recently bought a new phone with a full keyboard that allows me to message with both hands!

So yes, I love to text. But not as much as this girl:

This Kid’s a Text ManiacI bet Greg Hardesty was glad he had AT&T’s unlimited text messaging plan when he counted how many text messages his teen daughter sent in a month. His eyes almost popped out of his head when his 440 page AT&T online statement revealed that his 13-year-old daughter Reina had sent 14,528 text messages in one month!

Read Reina’s full story.
