Most teens relate the idea of sex and prom. If you are hoping to avoid the pitfalls that this often has, one of the best things you can do is to plan your after prom in such a way as to ensure there is no problem. In other words, find things to do and places to go that are not likely to lead to a sexual encounter. Just because you do not want to have sex after your prom night does not mean you cannot have a lot of fun on this night. Here are some ideas.
One idea is to do what your school is doing! Many of the high schools will host after prom activities. These may be simple evenings such as having everyone come together for yet another party. They may have a variety of activities, food, and dancing. After prom activities are far less stressful and formal than the event itself. They are a time to “party” without the threat of alcohol or sex. Most of them go well into the night, even as late as two or three in the morning. After prom is a great way to avoid the sex situation.
Another idea is just to go home. You may want to head home after your prom. If you are satisfied with the evening, then say good night to your date and head home. On the other hand, maybe you want to keep the magic going for a few more hours. You may be able to make arrangements with your parents to have a few friends over to watch movies. With parents at home, it is highly unlikely that any sexual encounters will happen, but you still will be safe and happy together.
There are a few other ways you can enjoy this after prom time, too. For example, you could head to an all night restaurant to drink coffee and talk. You could go to a bowling alley to have a few games and to avoid the sex situation. You could go to your favorite movie theater to catch a late night movie. In short, you want to do something that is fun and keeps you together, but keeps you out of the sex situations. Why not go to the beach with friends?
There are many ways to enjoy your after prom without having to worry about the sex situation playing out. Go ahead and talk to your date to make sure they know this is what you want. That way, there is less pressure on both of you to avoid the sexual encounter and more focus on just having fun on this hugely important night. Keep yourself out of places where it could happen.

What can teens do in the city (Melb) for fun?
its my birthday soon & me and a couple of friends wanted to go into the city for it, and I was wondering what fun things we could do?
Your idea of fun and mine might be completely different, so I am not sure if anyone could advise you. Me, I like the art galleries. Any museum, doing the free walks through Melbourne with the maps from he tourist center. I guess it just depends on what your definition of fun is
