It’s A Jungle Out There
Yes, you will have competition but don’t concentrate on them. When job hunting, it’s the survival of the fittest, both physically and mentally. Never psyched you self out and always find ways to give out positive vibes about yourself.
Practice Makes Perfect
If you have no experience when it comes to interviewing, ask someone to role play with you. Do this even before you get called for the interview so that you feel well prepared. You would be more confident when you’ve done your research and practicing the interview. Answers to difficult questions like “What are your weaknesses?” should be written down and practiced until they sound natural.
Create a Positive Image
It’s a cliché but it’s true that when you look good, you feel good. Plus, dressing appropriately will send a good first impression to your interviewer. So, if you have no idea what’s the culture of the company is like, call the receptionist and ask him/ her about what is acceptable in the specific office. Some interviewers also hint the dress codes to candidates so do take note.
Always prepare your attire the day before the interview. You don’t want to seem misplaced or frazzled coming into the interview.
Always Ask About the Job
Even though you may not have any more queries about the job, do ask questions about it. This will make the interviewer know that you are interested in the job. Ask again to make clear about their expectations should you get the job or what is the next step after the interview.
Also, if you feel that you might want to call her up for updates, ask about it. This will make you and her more comfortable when you do want to call.
