A key distinction teens need to keep in mind when searching for work (and especially once they land a position!) is ‘what value am I adding?’
No matter whether they are one small cog in a giant system, or solely responsible for an important outcome, having the mindset of adding as much value as possible for their employer will ensure they…
a) are noticed for promotion / extra shifts, and
b) given more opportunities or training than someone who is simply ‘filling in time’ or there just for the money.
